- Engage in succession planning and support organizational development
- Recruiting for designated business groups and collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team on all recruitment-related matters
- Works closely with payroll, compensation, and benefits
- Engages with the business to work on performance management
- Partake in HR policy implementation
- Partner with Operations, HR, Talent Acquisition, and L&D to develop and implement solutions to respond to challenges facing the business unit
- Ensure proper support in all steps of the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding
- Investigate and respond to all employee concerns and take steps to resolve issues through independent and creative problem-solving solutions
- Support the development of career-pathing initiatives
- Change management within the context of developing and implementing people programs, policies, and processes
- 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of BC Employment Standards Act and Human Rights Legislation
- High degree of computer literacy - proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Teams
- Ability to stay organized and work with urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Client-service focused with an exceptional ability to execute of business goals while treating everyone with respect and dignity
- A reliable team player with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- General understanding of the administration of payroll and benefits
- CPHR is an asset but not required
- Experience using Workday
- Insurance industry experience/knowledge
