- Acquisition of new property rights (fee simple or easement) for transmission line, transformation and distribution line work, including
- acquiring/releasing easements on private properties
- dealing with encroachments on transmission and distribution properties
- managing low voltage rights
- Market investigation and valuation
- Providing land rights management services for electrical transmission and distribution facilities across the province, including: negotiating licenses/leases for secondary land uses on corridor lands owned by the Provincial Government or the Company dealing with encroachments on transmission and distribution properties acquiring/releasing easements on private properties managing low voltage rights managing property tax payments.
- Reviewing and responding to municipal planning circulations that may affect Hydro One transmission assets.
- Managing payments for easement rights on lands over which the Company's transmission or distribution lines cross.
- Assessing and analyzing various real estate issues and preparing applicable real estate reports, summaries, spreadsheets and other similar documents
- Recording, documenting, and storing property documents related to the management of Hydro One property rights and real estate assets
- Assisting Hydro One Real Estate staff in the above activities, with an emphasis on acquisition of property related activities but there could be an opportunity to assist with property management related activities.
- Experience with the market investigation, valuation, acquisition and management of real estate assets of a large, publicly held company in Ontario's energy industry
- Interactions with government (e.g. Provincial Ministries), public and private sector land owners, as well as legal professionals and elected representatives
- Discipline: Real Estate (e.g. Bachelor of Commerce, Real Estate and Land Use Planning)
- Academic Level: Minimum 2nd year of program completed
- Other requirements: Must valid licence to drive in the Province of Ontario and access to a vehicle for periodic travel to work locations
