Our expertise spans across feasibility studies, advanced visualization, and comprehensive project management, ensuring every project is a seamless fusion of vision and reality, designed not just to meet, but to exceed expectations.Position OverviewThe Architectural Technologist is responsible for the preparation of design and construction drawings for architectural projects, utilizing advanced knowledge of building materials, architectural design, and assembly methodologies. This role serves as a vital link between schematic design and the final construction documents, leveraging Revit and BIM technologies.Primary Responsibilities:Technical Design and Documentation:
  • Responsible for producing and finalizing various architectural drawings and documents for submissions, including site plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, ceiling plans, and detailed assemblies. Manage the creation of specific plans such as screen plans, and schedules, as well as compile quantities for elements like doors and windows. Ensure all deliverables are accurate and compliant with required specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects and project managers to develop and refine architectural designs.
  • Produce comprehensive working drawings and specifications using CAD and BIM software.
  • Proficient in drawing and drafting with AutoCAD and Revit across multiple projects.
  • Implement design modifications and redline markups to enhance project outputs.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating design risks using Revit and BIM 360.
  • Experience in measuring, assessing and solving for risk in Revit and BIM 360.
  • Choose optimal materials and methods with a focus on functionality.
Project Coordination and Compliance:
  • Responsible for the preparation and integration of Revit files and model merging.
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code; integrate plans with engineering and consultant drawings.
  • Understanding the coordination of project schedules within project management tools like Microsoft Project & Wrike; to ensure timely deliverables including communication and coordination with consultants.
  • Experience in model clash detection using Navisworks is preferred.
Team Support and Development:
  • Provide drafting support and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Participate in client meetings.
  • Participate in continuous learning to stay updated with modern construction methods and materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Preferred degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role; senior-level drafting experience beneficial.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks; MEP experience beneficial.
  • knowledge of building practices, codes, and regulations within Ontario.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Experience with SketchUp is a plus.
