Founded in October 1998, Cypress is committed to providing the best possible investment services to its clients.About the Role:Cypress is looking for an Associate to help the portfolio management team improve all aspect of the investment management process. The successful candidate must have the ability to work both in a team and independently to better deliver the best possible service to clients. A solutions-oriented mindset is critical to this position.Your Responsibilities:
  • Work with portfolio managers to develop tools to effectively implement portfolio trading strategies across thousands of individual accounts.
  • Day-to-day execution of the trading strategy, including building, reviewing and submitting trade blotters.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of existing portfolio management software systems to identify area of potential efficiency gains.
  • Support Portfolio Manager in research related activities on an as needed basis.
  • Keep current on political and economic trends and events which could impact market environment.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships within and outside the team.
  • Respond to client requests for additional information.
  • Help produce and maintain firm marketing material.
  • Ad hoc projects to help grow the business or deliver better client service. This might include, but is not limited to, updating website content, researching software tools, or maintaining internal KYP and KYC documentation.
  • Willing to focus on what matters most.
Your Qualifications:
  • Very strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable interest in capital markets, investing and personal finance.
  • Completion of undergraduate Bachelor’s degree.
  • Completion of Level 1 of the CFA program.
  • Completion of CFA, MBA or other professional designation would be an asset (CPA, P.Eng etc)
  • Expert level Microsoft Office skills.
  • 3 years’ work experience in office environment.
  • Work and educational experience need not be limited to Finance or Business. Backgrounds in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics would be considered an asset.
Additional Information concerning the role.
  • Primarily In office with limited hybrid opportunities.
  • Not necessarily client facing.
  • Significant scope to increase responsibilities over time depending on the candidate.
