If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!Reporting to the General Manager of Infrastructure Development, the Director, Infrastructure Operations is responsible for all Infrastructure Operations services to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).The purpose of the Infrastructure Operations division is to deliver services essential to CNL including:· Inventory management, materials management, shipping, receiving, distribution, warehousing, and traffic and customs services.· Efficient maintenances of Roads, Grounds and Forestry Management services.· Manufacturing Services which provide manufactured products and services that include active and inactive machining, sheet metals, welding, lead burning and project management support.· Fabrication Services which provide sheet metal, welding and lead burning services for small and large fabrication projects or formal job processes.· Utilities Operations which includes the Site Utilities Generating Facility (Powerhouse) and the Sanitary Sewage Treatment Facility.What will you be doing !Planning, Development, Operations, Evaluation and Continuous Improvement of Infrastructure Operations· Provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure effective planning, implementation and delivery of services in accordance with CNL’s vision and strategic priorities.· Leads a diverse and skilled group of employees through a highly capable team of Managers, Leads, Section Heads and Supervisors· Provides direction and oversight to CNL’s Socio Economic responsibilities that include the local Economic Development agenda, Industry engagements, and Supplier Relationship and Development programs.· Represents CNL at corporate level and works with CNL’s executive team to maintain strong interfaces and relationships with all projects and all key functional areas.· Provides hands-on intervention with strategically important activities, projects, and social engagements, etc.· Deliver PEMP and Award Fee initiatives on schedule.· Development and monitoring of the Infrastructure Operations Business Plan.People Development and Employee Engagement· Demonstrate commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by embodying and articulating these principles, holding others accountable, prioritizing them in daily actions and decisions, acknowledging personal biases and taking action to mitigate them.· Foster a collaborative, team-focused work environment, prioritizing diversity of thinking, psychological safety, and team cohesion.· Model and enforce the organization’s Code of Conduct and the demonstration of behaviours that are aligned with the core values. Lead by example and ensure that all those within their line of responsibility are aligned in their actions.· Provide effective coaching and mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.· Identify and nurture talent for key leadership roles, implementing succession plans for skilled and capable leaders.Safety· Ensure all safety management programs are followed.What we are looking for :· Strong program and project expertise including PMO, effective baseline management and working knowledge of earned value management practices alongside diverse procurement expertise covering projects, materials, services and category management approaches.· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with critical thinking & decision-making, ability to express confidently to internal and external audiences with the proven ability to mediate and negotiate well.· Extensive experience in large project ($500M+) contracting in a complex, technical and regulated environment as well as managing functional contracting and procurement with expenditure over $300M per year. Must have significant demonstrable experience of delivering transformational change including robust process improvement practices and principles.· Excellent business judgement and savvy with a proven ability to make decisions under pressure that are of high consequence to risk, performance, and budget.· Demonstrated management skills and experience including resource management, budgeting, planning and reporting, team building and relationship management.· Excellent written and verbal communication ability.· Strong business ethics and process orientation.· Education and experience gained at a professional level through formal university/technical college, coupled with training in a broad range of operations positions, in positions of increasing authority and leadership responsibility gained over 10 plus years of experience.· Strong business sense and extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, agreements and terms and conditions, competitive bidding laws of Canada, and Contract Law. Understanding of the Legal system, and how contracts are executed and issues resolved.· Ideally, experience in both private and public sectors and as both client and contractor.· Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.Don't Meet every Requirement?We are looking for the right candidate to lead the Infrastructure Operations team.
