(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)NoJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Manager, Network Services, the Lead Technical Analyst provides work direction to a team of Technical Analysts, and assists in day-to-day management, planning, implementation, and operational delivery of Network Services for the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA). This position coordinates, reviews, recommends, and creates plans for supporting Network Services day-to-day support requirements. As well, this position ensures that support best practices and process standards are implemented, and provides day-to-day direction to Technical Analyst staff assigned to technical support as well as on a project basis.The Lead Analyst performs configuration, installation, technical support, problem resolution, and change management duties related to the VIHA data communications network. This position is responsible for resolving complex problems related to the design, configuration, deployment, integration, and management of components required to support the network connectivity of servers, workstations, telephones, terminals, printers, and a variety of other clinical and administrative peripheral equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, four years' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry the duties of the position.

  • Ability to operate related equipment.
