- Take charge of projects with significant strategic importance, including QualPro Regulatory Enhancements and Cobol V9 Upgrade for TYES, driving innovation and progress.
- Manage a diverse range of projects, from regulatory enhancements to database migrations, offering a stimulating and varied work environment.
- Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with technical and business leaders, honing your leadership skills and making a tangible impact on project outcomes.
- Conduct regular lessons learned sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement within project teams, driving efficiency and effectiveness.

- Project Initiation
o Work with technical and business leaders to define project investment opportunities, including scope, schedule, budget, and benefits
o Identify and negotiate project resource requirements with delivery organizations (internal & external), set delivery expectations, and evaluate delivery performance- Project Delivery
o Direct accountability for planning and executing one or more Agile or Waterfall projects as
solution scope requires to project performance criteria (on time, within scope, on budget, and meeting quality standards) as defined in the project statement(s)
o Develop project estimate basis using Agile software development estimation techniques
o Advanced project management practical expertise across knowledge areas: scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk and procurement and integration management
o Work with Product and resource owners to identify internal and external stakeholders, and then lead stakeholders management activities throughout the project life cycle
o Own the development and review of project requirements with Product Owners, Solution
Architects, and Technical Leads to ensure project will deliver to the planned benefits
o Facilitate interactions between Technical Leads, Project Delivery Staff, and QE Leads to ensure that project delivery and testing completion are aligned
o Facilitate cross-departmental project delivery activities, and gain commitment for delivery while managing competing demands, to ensure that project delivery dates are not compromised
o Plan project implementations, facilitate implementation dry runs, and lead Go live activities to ensure production implementations do not adversely impact the production environment
o Escalate material issues and risks to leadership in a timely fashion
o Ensure that Organizational Change Management activities are completed to drive product adoption
o Ensure that Transition to Support is planned for, completed, and approved so that the support organization can support all new or modified systems- Project Controls
o Follow IS PMO processes regarding deliverables, stage gates, and controls in accordance
with SOX and management controls compliance
o Create and maintain project financials across project cost budget managed in SAP, PPM
and Excel; provide accurate and timely project financial submissions
o Develop, monitor and control all aspects of project delivery in accordance with CPKC IS PMO and project management best practices
o Develop, and support the development, of presentations to senior management regarding project scope, schedule, budget, and current status updates.- Team Leadership
o Provide project leadership: set clear goals, engage team members, resolve conflict and recognize team member contributions appropriately
o Conduct regular lessons learned sessions to ensure continuous improvement of project teams.
o Excellent communication, organizational, multitasking, problem solving and negotiating skills
o Appreciating and understanding how to deal with different cultural values and sensitivities
o Ability to rapidly adapt, set priorities and respond to changes in fast-paced environment;
o Self-starter, the successful candidate demonstrates strong accountability and pride of ownership to deliver quality solutionsQualifications
- Significant experience leading large, multi-stakeholder information systems projects;
- Post-secondary education (University, College), in Commerce/Business, Engineering, Technology or Computer Science;
- Demonstrated expertise of project management planning tools (MS Project preferred) and associated MS Office products (such as; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience / successful track record, working in a team-oriented environment (demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships)
- Managed Software and Technology Development, and/or Application Integration projects using primary Iterative, Agile or Waterfall Project methodologies
- Decision and problem solving at the root cause and complexity level
- Experience in understanding business / technical strategies and communicating these needs to the governing bodies, to ensure programs / projects and services are delivered as agreed.
- Lead statement of work (SOW) development, participate in contract negotiations, and manage Vendors and materials delivery.
