- Maintain and repair the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, back spaces and staff residences
- Carry out guest rooms and public space preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist tradesmen when needed.
- Order parts / equipment working with Maintenance Co-ordinator
- Gain complete knowledge of hotel and residence fire standards and procedures.
- Report broken or misused equipment to Maintenance Office.
- Cover for Property Engineer in regard to hotel boilers/chillers (building systems) over the weekends or when necessary
- Gain thorough knowledge of the boilers, chillers, air-handling units, fan coil units, compressors, pumps.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on all hotel mechanical equipment
- Maintain and repair residence units and carry out residence preventive maintenance
- Compliance to all H&S programs.
- Maintain accurate reports and logs as per the hotel requirements
- 40-hour workweek.
- Maintain a safe and hazard free work environment.
- Hand tool requirements as defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Must respond as part of the Emergency Response Team.
- Actively participate in the hotel environmental program.
- Other related duties as assigned
- Previous experience in Building Maintenance, Building Operators Certificate or a 5th Class Power Engineer preferable
- Possess working knowledge of computerized Building Maintenance Systems is an asset.
- Working knowledge of HVAC and A.H.U. systems and chiller operations
- Must possess a valid driver's license for Canada
- Minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Computer literacy required Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be able to work effectively in a high pace environment.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.
- Must be willing to learn, be a self-starter and is comfortable working in a technically demanding environment.
- Further training will be required as it relates to property specific systems (FCLL - JTC).
