The candidate will be paired with a senior supervisor and will be assisting him/her across various meetings, interactions with the personnel, as well as in the making of decisions, all while obtaining the needed support from the team on site. The work environment is divided between desk work and on-the-field experience.What your day to day will look like:As a Logistics Intern, the day will be dynamic and diverse. Initially the student will be required to familiarize themselves with the Halifax Operations site and the processes within the scope of the work term. Within the second week tasks will revolve around the following:Leading initiatives and supporting projects aimed at improving processes within Quality Management, Inventory Control and Product movement. Continuous improvement methods and tools such as process mapping, root cause analysis/mistake proofing and values stream waste identification/elimination will be used.Collaborating with Logistics personnel and the Continuous Improvement team to analyze the flow of product to identify opportunities and implement solutions regarding part routing and inventory reduction.Supporting enhancements to existing production planning toolsParticipating and supporting Kaizen and/or Root Cause analysis events aimed at reducing lead time and improving material distribution/storage.Discussing solutions with plant employees and supervisors from various departments as needed.RTX is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
