Are you looking for a role that will challenge you?Would you like to make a difference in the Environment?Our Whiteshell Laboratories (WL) site located near Pinawa, Manitoba is looking for a Preventative Maintenance Planning Coordinator (PC). The PC provides experienced maintenance planning, scheduling and forecasting support to the Work Control Manager, who is responsible for providing manufacturing, construction and maintenance services across the Whiteshell site. The PC also provides support to the Whiteshell Operations & Maintenance Management and other Branch and Division members. Does this pique your interest?   • Endorsing the development and improvement of the Whiteshell preventative maintenance program and initiatives.
  • Interface with customers and maintenance work groups to determine preventative maintenance requirements in order to meet regulator (CNSC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M Manual) requirements.
  • Facilitating preventative maintenance tasks through coordination of work activities with other work groups.
  • Providing planning support for work activities using the planning process incorporating a thorough understanding of Whiteshell computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Participating in cross functional team engagement of the continuous improvement initiative with the “6” S (“5S” Lean Management Philosophy & Safety Culture).
  • Enhancing safety culture and organizational excellence through leadership, accountability, communication and process improvement.
  • Making recommendations supporting the principle of continuous improvement.
  • Assisting customer groups with development of maintenance plans and coordination of schedules by reviewing and suggesting required changes.
  • Reviewing and tracking all regulatory and operational site excellence preventative and corrective work order completion metrics.
  • Participating in improvements to optimize Resource Capacity Forecasting to assist cross functional teams in achieving site wide compliance requirements.
  • Providing forecast of trade resource requirements for preventative maintenance work, as required.
  • Assisting maintenance work groups with a clear understanding of planned work and satisfying customer requests for work related information such as status of requests, scope of work, and impact on other activities.
  • Generating the preventative maintenance (PM) Work Orders (WO) for distribution to associated work groups.
  • Preparing customized reports for various customers upon request.
  • Updating Whiteshell Work Control SharePoint site in order for user groups to obtain current information in regards to maintenance in their perspective work areas.
  • Creating new preventative maintenance work orders in the CMMS based on completed Requests for New/Revised Scheduled Maintenance forms received from customers.
  • Entering and verifying completed and ongoing WOs for all trades into CMMS.
  • Researching history/status of WOs using information/description obtained from the trades staff.
  • Filing electronic and paper records.
  • Responding to queries from equipment/building owners;.
  • Conferring with facility owners to determine progress of work where extended time periods or job deferrals may be required.
  • Providing notification to customers on any delays and post these updates on the Work Control SharePoint site.
  • Providing planning support by coordinating materials and resources with maintenance work orders and managing the material in the Kanban area.
  • Liaising with Procurement and vendors to ensure acquisitions are timely and cost effective.
  • Updating the Whiteshell Site Asset Registry with revisions.

Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with planning and preparation of preventative management documentation.
  • Knowledge of work management systems, facility maintenance processes and associated software.
  • Extensive knowledge of site systems and equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS computer programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Familiarity with maintenance work procedures, N286 documentation, General Conduct of Operations, site procedures and work permit requirements.
Education
  • CET or red seal trades discipline considered an asset.
  • In lieu of the above qualifications, suitable relevant experience in field maintenance and field maintenance planning is required.
Security clearance eligibility requirement
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.Working Conditions:
  • Must possess normal physical agility necessary to perform all aspects of the work that involves bending, lifting and mobility.
  • Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing and using equipment as required.
  • Visual concentration for viewing documents.
  • Occasional short duration lifting required for job materials and supplies (up to ~20kg).
  • High level of computer-based work.
  • Frequent interruptions with shifting priorities.
  • Required to be onsite on a full-time basis.
