- Managing the Shared Financial Services team – this team provides basic financial services, implements financial software for clients, provides payroll services, and prepares complex pension reconciliations.
- Managing the Group Purchasing finance team – oversee a small staff focused on purchase order matching, processing of accounts payable and rebate reconciliation.
- Hiring and supervision of summer students
- Providing demonstrations of financial systems to prospective clients
- Organizing and leading the launch of new service deliveries
- Working directly with Chief Comptroller for month end accounting and financial processes, annual budgeting process and annual audit
- Providing support to the Payroll Services team –aiding staff and clients in understanding the interrelationship between payroll and accounting
- Leadership accountability includes staff performance and management, and financial budget responsibility.
- Provision of support and guidance on financial matters to managers within the organization
- CPA designation is mandatory with 5+ years of experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, specializing in Finance or Accounting or relevant experience
- Excellent financial skills, accounting knowledge and understanding of financial statements. Familiarity with financial accounting for benefit plans would be an asset.
- Proficiency in financial software and in Excel. Familiarity with Xero would be an asset.
- High IT literacy and capacity to quickly learn and become proficient in new software and platforms.
- Experience in payroll or leading payroll.
- 3-5 years leadership experience in a management of a team
