Application Security Engineer

- Working from requirements, collaborate with Application Security Stakeholders, assist in design, development, and implementing solutions supporting application security at the bank.
- Collaborate in a team environment spanning multiple geographies to implement and support project tasks.
- Define best practices, author detailed design and implementation documentation to support Day 2 operations team, end users, and define best practices in using products implemented by the project team.
- Develop and support tools and integrations that connect new products into existing technology stacks and processes.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
- At least three years of experience in deploying and managing security or enterprise solutions in a large-scale environment
- Strong knowledge of application security concepts, best practices, and tools.
- Capable of producing and refining solution architecture documentation that accurately reflects the implemented solution.
- Proficient in system administration, scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and automation tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their security features and services
- Certifications in security, such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP, are a plus
- Excellent organization, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Fluent in English, Spanish an asset
