- Review shift log daily regarding recent electrical-related issues in the plant
- Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
- Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations
- Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs / replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
- Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
- Develop, present and/or make modifications to scope of work for turnaround events as well as provide support to turnaround team during execution
- Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
- Complete electrical engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements and ensure compliance with cleints SPI(s), specifications and standards
- Prepare high quality (technically sound, timely, complete and cost effective etc.) design packages with well-understood scopes of work
- Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
- Analyze electrical equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end of life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA
- Professional Engineer or eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment 600V/4160V, providing repair/improvement solutions and completing engineering work packages
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good communication, collaboration, networking and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player and self-starter
- Ability to work in an office and field environment
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices
- Ability to utilize sound technical practices/analysis to support recommendations, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Must be eligible to work permanently in Canada
