Come enjoy a balanced way of living at the City of Prince Albert.The City of Prince Albert is looking for an Infrastructure Systems Team Lead, who will be responsible to ensure timely support, monitoring and maintenance of information technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, email, backup systems and security. The Infrastructure Systems Team Lead provides leadership and supervision to the Infrastructure Systems Team.In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Team Lead will maintain and enhance the City of Prince Albert network environment and infrastructure, coordinating regular scheduled and critical maintenance of all network operating system hardware, software and related peripheral equipment in a virtual environment. The individual will focus on developing and promoting innovative and creative technology ideas and processes for functions throughout the organization.Principle Duties & Responsibilities:Leadership & Supervision:
  • Supervise, schedule and manage the performance of employees assigned to the infrastructure systems team.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, enhancement and upgrades of infrastructure systems across the team.
  • Ensure effective systems analysis processes and standard procedures are developed for and used by the team.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of infrastructure systems team employees.
  • Develop and authorize individual work plans for the work group which align with the department.
  • Ensure direct reports comply with legislative acts, regulations as well as City policies & procedures.
Acquisition and Deployment:
  • Define and map infrastructure requirements in consultation with decision makers, process owners, stakeholders and end users.
  • Serve as technical infrastructure expert providing guidance and support to IT team members and IT projects.
  • Ensure robust network operations and network security.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for security managed services and failures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for EOC activation and emergency system failures.
  • Provide support for corporate email systems.
  • Research and develop server requirements and recommend physical server procurement.
  • Prepare systems documentation and reports as required.
  • Develop structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, servers, storage area networks, security or any other computer related hardware or software.
  • Deliver training as required.
Strategy & Planning:
  • Lead in house and 3rd party IT consulting infrastructure changes and enhancements.
  • Responsible for drafting policies that govern all system users with respect to technology usage and security; and monitoring and investigation of violations of the policies.
  • Implement strategies to manage system recovery and disaster recovery scenarios and backup systems in case of failure.
  • Support installation, maintenance and configuration of Security Cameras and data collected from those systems.
  • Research and recommend diagnostic tools.
  • Recommend and enact Group Policy configurations and employee access rights.
Operational Management:
  • Develop operational, installation, and upgrade procedures, to be used by other staff, for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software.
  • Create and ensure proper procedures are followed to create and maintain all employee user accounts on the networks.
  • Ensure all infrastructure systems are appropriately maintained and updated.
  • Maintain antivirus concurrency.
  • Deploy virtual servers.
  • Support wide area network (WAN).
  • Provide end user support to identify, diagnose and resolve system issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • MCA in Microsoft 365 discipline considered an asset
  • MCSA in Microsoft Server 2016 considered an asset
  • Network+ Certification recommended
  • 5+ years experience in a related IT field in a corporate environment.
Key Knowledge, Technical Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of IT fundamentals and best practices as they relate to a corporate network environment.
  • Knowledge and experience working with virtual environments, MS servers, system storage and network security.
  • Understand integration with Azure AD and Hybrid Exchange
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the City of Prince Albert.
