To accomplish this, the DAACM team:Determines the economic and financial scenario that feeds into our Medium-Term Capital Market Assumptions (MTCMAs)Determines, implements, and manages the Target Portfolio’s desired asset-class exposures and currency exposuresLeads the rebalancing activities (assets and currencies) of the Total Fund to ensure exposures are aligned with desired Total Fund targetsEstablishes and oversees the Dynamic Asset Allocation, Total Fund Currency Management (including Dynamic Currency Management)ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs a Director, Financial Market Modelling & Global Strategist, you will be leading the Financial Market Modelling of the team and contribute to designing the overall quantitative processes and tools of the team. You will also act as a transversal leader to develop in-house global economic and financial scenario to support investment recommendations and the dynamic investment activities related to asset allocation and currencies for the Total Fund.You will lead a team of professionals and be reporting to the Managing Director, DAACM within the CIO group.More specifically, as a director, you willLead the development of in-house models and global economic and financial scenarios (MTCMAs), including those used to perform various stress testsIdentify and closely monitor global economic and financial conditions (monetary policy, equities, fixed income, commodity, and private assets)Lead the design of periodical investment strategy outlooks related to asset allocation and currencies for PSP’s Total Fund for the benefit of PSP’s senior management and investment teamsProduce, supervise, and coordinate documents presented to investment committees and ensure clear communicationDevelop synergies between different teams within Total Fund Management as well as within PSPAct as a subject-matter expert of economic and financial scenarios to disseminate knowledge and influence across senior leadership in investment groups to ensure the alignment of public and private investments with Total Fund Investments to position the Fund on a path up to a 3-year horizonLead and develop PSP’s relationship with external market strategists and leverage their insights to where it may be most needed within the organizationContributes to the development of innovative quantitative tools and techniques to support total fund investments processes, decisions and recommendations to the committees related to the Total FundWHAT YOU’LL NEEDPh.D. or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another related fieldA minimum of 10 years of experience notably in financial, economic, and econometric research, asset management, private assets valuation, as well as in various quantitative methods applied to financeSeveral years of experience in senior roles requiring leadership and the exercise of influencing skillsAn established network with influential market strategistsStrong experience in asset allocation, investment and/or currency strategyExperience in programming languages especially with EViews and econometric modelingPrevious experience in a pension fund or similar institution and in consultation an assetCFA Charter holder an assetProficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) *Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa.We offer a tailored employee experience and competitive total rewards and benefits package* designed to attract and retain global diverse talent, reward performance, and reinforce business strategies and priorities.
