- Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain environmental approvals/permits for projects from government and regulatory agencies (all jurisdictions).
- Lead, implement and manage environmental regulatory planning, EA/IA across Canada.
- Independently conduct, coordinate, and manage external subcontractors, where required, to complete regulatory planning, EA/IA and supportive technical studies and documentation (e.g., noise, air, natural and cultural heritage, visual, land use etc.) for projects.
- Liaise and communicate with regulatory agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction to address project issues and obtain agreement in principle.
- Manage the development and implementation of consultation and engagement programs, directed at municipal, federal, and provincial regulatory agencies, and Indigenous peoples, including providing strategic oversight to ensure effective engagement.
- Collaborate with technical and professional staff across the company in completing assignments.
- Effectively delegate tasks and activities to intermediate and junior staff and providing technical and supervisory guidance on assigned tasks.
- Interact with clients on technical tasks as Project Manager, Environmental Lead or Consultation Lead.
- Develop, prepare, and maintain project/task schedules and budgets for the environmental component of projects, including monitoring project progress, work hours, budgets and expenditures using project scheduling and cost control tools.
- Assist with and, as necessary, taking a lead role in the development of proposals, qualification documents and other business development related activities.
- Help the wider team to grow environmental market share in strategic markets.

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, Environmental Impact Assessment, Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies (or similar).
- 10+ years of related experience in managing and coordinating Environmental programs, EA/IA, and environmental regulatory planning.
- Familiarity and demonstrated experience with the provincial, federal, and territorial EA/IA processes in a variety of jurisdictions, with in-depth understanding of regulatory environment in BC or ON being an asset.
- Knowledge of other relevant environmental legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating environmental permitting and approvals in BC/ON and Canada.
- Ability to train and mentor junior and intermediate staff.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), as well as an aptitude for client liaison.
- Knowledge of and experience with project management fundamentals including cost control, scope management and scheduling.
- Full or Provisional membership in a professional body such Registered Professional Planner (RPP and MCIP), Canadian Environmental Professional (EP); or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- ISO14001 Environmental Management auditing accreditation would be an asset.
