Engineering Technologist (EIT)Engineering, Emissions Reduction and ComplianceGTA-ONWe are seeking a Wastewater and Stormwater Consultant to join our dynamic water services team in Ontario. The successful candidate will be based in Pinchin’s Mississauga office and will play a key role in performing and managing wastewater and stormwater investigations, designing infrastructure, conducting on-site inspections, and delivering comprehensive reporting services.A Day in the life of Project Manager at Pinchin
  • Play a role in the design and execution of sewage works and conveyance projects (drinking water, stormwater and wastewater) from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections to assess site conditions, included but not limited to elevations, flows and design constraints to help formulate appropriate solutions and strategies.
  • Prepare detailed, clear, and comprehensive technical reports highlighting findings, assessments, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage broad expertise in regulations, engineering, and the governing authorities as necessary to deliver holistic solutions to clients.
  • Provide septic assessment and design services.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, understand their needs, and tailor solutions that align with their goals.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in infrastructure design.
  • Develop leadership by effectively leading design teams when required, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Solve complex stormwater and other onsite challenges, proactively leveraging technical knowledge and innovative thinking.
  • Represent Pinchin with professionalism and expertise in client interactions, industry events, and conferences.
What you bring to the Pinchin team
  • Minimum of a 4-year Engineering Degree and preference to candidates with a P.Eng. (Professional Engineering) designation or an EIT that is P.Eng. eligible.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in the discipline of engineering design and construction ideally as a Civil Engineer working in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of: Federal, Provincial and municipal regulations and codes that apply to industrial commercial and institutional sites including the Ontario Building Code, pressure vessels, fire and electrical codes as required.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of the administration needed to execute capital projects.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of construction methods, equipment and technologies related to design and construction, including reading and interpreting civil site plans, P&ID, PFD, mechanical & electrical drawings and associated specifications.
  • Ability to deal effectively with consultants and contractors.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in the use of general computer software, Excel and Word, spreadsheets, report writing, presentation software, GIS platforms, etc.). web based project management platforms, SharePoint, Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read, understand and clearly communicate written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must have demonstrated acumen dealing with sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Develop efficient information and data management processes to support the department functions.
  • Strong organization, time management skills and coordinate several tasks at one time.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • A team player with demonstrated commitment to customer and community service.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle for business purposes.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required and a commitment to staying current with industry developments and continuous professional development.
