We are looking for an individual with Alberta Journeyperson certification as a Millwright for our Service Centre in Leduc. We’ll rely on you to prepare, inspect, disassemble, inspect, recommend repair solutions, repair, assemble, and inspect oilsands handling and processing machinery. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Our team is driven by passion and dedication which is reflected in the quality of our product and our innovative designs. Knowledge of different kinds of machinery and their maintenance is essential. Must have experience with gearbox inspection, maintenance and repairs.Your responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Inspect, repair, and assemble mechanical equipment, such as gearboxes, pulleys, screen boxes, high pressure grinding roller assemblies, etc. according to layout plans and equipment manufacturer specifications.
  • Safely operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks, and hydraulic rams, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Maintain a system that accurately identifies, categorizes, and tags parts during disassembly, repair, and reassembly of equipment.
  • Use your many years of experience and judgement to successfully repair equipment using the correct processes, machines, techniques, and tools while always having the most cost-effective methods in mind.
  • Take steps to ensure every job is done in a manner that’s safe and completed according to the latest workplace safety regulations, laws and requirements.
  • Shall have ability of working with tight tolerances. Must follow quality procedures, ensure ITP conformance, and conduct failure analysis to provide corrective action solutions.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Shop Manager Service Centre.
What you bring
  • Seven (7) years Millwright experience.
  • Seven (7) years gearbox experience.
  • Alberta Journeyperson certification as a Millwright (Red Seal Journeyperson will be considered).
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanical background with emphasis on trouble shooting and providing solutions.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Has effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy while working with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
