JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS *JOB SUMMARY:The successful applicant will assist a Plant Mechanic and/or Carpenter in preforming equipment repairs, installations, and basic preventative maintenance. The successful applicant will be required to execute work orders involving repair to the following items: stretchers, wheelchairs, side tables, commodes, recliner chairs, handrails, and ceiling tiles. The applicant will also be required to assemble various pieces of equipment. The applicant will be required to maintain and oversee the patient lifts throughout the Hospital to ensure the operational readiness of the patient lifts. This may include battery replacement, diagnostics of lift motors and possible repairs/replacement of said motors. Along with ensuring the integrity of the docking stations.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 4 years of mechanical labour, carpentry, building maintenance, or construction experience
  • Ability to operate power tools and machinery as required
  • Working knowledge of carpentry
  • knowledge of other work disciplines; Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC an asset
  • Knowledge and ability t use common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of all applicable building structural and industry materials and standards
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and specifications
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Unless otherwise stated, minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent
