- Understands and implements all relevant systems, standards, practices, and procedures required by the contract.
- Assist Mechanical or Piping project team lead as required including review of project specifications, input and markups to P&IDs, design input, procurement support, for construction deliverables and construction support.
- Understands input and effort in building engineering proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and other documents to support project development.
- Manages small and medium-sized projects, ensuring they stay within budget and meet client requirements.
- Provides design advice and support to designers and AutoCAD operators.
- Able to perform engineering duties with minimal supervision.
- Maintains health, safety and environmental awareness to ensure that these are considered in the design and procurement processes.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian province (and able to register with other provinces as required) – Required.
- Required, 5-10 years of relevant Engineering experience; (Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas, pulp and paper or biofuels industry an asset)
- Ability to travel to the local job sites as required.
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members, proficient in oral and written communication.
- Proactive with a high degree of initiative.
- Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks under stress.
- Excellent grasp of engineering principles and engineering workflows
- Able to assess complex systems.
- Experience with pipe stress analysis software such as Caesar II, knowledge of equipment such as tanks, pressure vessels, pumps etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in both a design office and operating plant environments.
- Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French
