We rally together, drawing on the diverse skills across our teams and create environments where great ideas are heard.The Project Engineer opportunity is based on our established contract on Curtis Island, off the coast of Gladstone Central Queensland. This is an on-island position and residents of Gladstone, and the surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will see you working on a 9-day fortnight, 8.75hrs / day.About the roleYou will be a key contact across the contract, responsible for the safe and cost-effective delivery of brownfield projects on a live LNG plant. The Project Engineer supports the Contract Manager in the delivery of a portfolio of project works in the projects portfolio and could be from a Mechanical, Electrical or Fabric Maintenance background. This position will work closely with the client Engineers and project owners to ensure scope, cost and schedule objectives are met.About YouYou will inspire your team, draw on their diverse skills and create an environment where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another. Ideally you will have:Tertiary qualification or Project Management Diploma with demonstrated experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Fabric Maintenance disciplinesDemonstrated experience in delivery of maintenance projects within a live operating plantDeveloped skills in working with site-based engineering teams in developing project scope, planning and estimating and project deliveryDemonstrated ability to interpret and understand project controls concepts including Earnt Value, S-Curves, Cost to Complete, burn rates and forecastingDemonstrated previous experience within the oil & gas or petrochemical plant industryKey responsibility areasEnsure all onsite works are completed in line with UGL’s Health & Safety safe work policies and proceduresEnsure that project planning incorporates HSE requirements for safe execution of workWork closely with client engineers and stakeholders for the estimating and planning of project worksWork with UGL Superintendent and Supervisors to ensure project delivery outcomes are met, resources are managed, and spares and materials are available as requiredCoordinate subcontractors for the delivery of outsourced tasks to ensure cohesive project outcomesImplement and manage a project execution plan and lead execution strategies, oversee the monitoring, reporting and controlling of all strategies requiredDevelop project cost estimate, monitor and control costsDevelop project schedule with UGL scheduler, providing regular schedule updates for the purpose of reportingWork closely with supervisors to ensure scope changes are managed and documented in accordance with he approved variation management procedureWhat makes you right for UGLGenuine concern for safetyCapacity to flourish in a high-performance environmentAn innovative mindset and a willingness to challenge the normA belief that success and value are driven by real teams where everyone has a role to playAbout UsUGL Pty Limited is a leading provider of end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services.
