Students are treated with unconditional positive regard at all times. Many of the young women are from backgrounds of trauma, abuse and neglect, and have complex needs.See more here - https://carinity.qld.edu.au/southside/About the roleThe role is on a casual basis. The Youth Worker – Learning Support provides support to teaching staff by working with students in the classroom, supporting their learning as well as their social emotional development.What do I need for the role?
  • Possession of Certificate III (or higher) in either Youth Work, Education Support or relevant discipline qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in providing support to marginalised young people, particularly those who have been victims of abuse, neglect, substance abuse and/or self-harm.
  • Ability to relate to youth from different backgrounds to build positive, professional relationships.
  • Willingness to obtain a LR licence to drive a 25-seated bus (highly desirable)
  • Willingness to drive a Minibus
