The agency is seeking enthusiastic, professional, and strategically focussed senior administration officer with strong interpersonal and organisational skills to contribute to, and implement, a program of work related to the agency new governance arrangements, including the establishment and ongoing support of a Board and other senior advisory committees. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a small, high performing team, during a time of a major reform.The applicant will require excellent organisational skills, an ability to be flexible and proactive in approach and possess an ability to work collaboratively with staff both within the Branch. This will involve confidently engaging with external and internal stakeholders, Senior Executive and the CEO.Duties
- Contribute to, and manage, relevant programs of work related to implementing a new governance structure.
- Establish and implement new system initiatives to support and manage multiple senior committees, including a Board.
- Once established, contributing to the support of a number of senior committees, including Board.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to build effective relationships that are mutually beneficial.
- Provide high quality advice to the Director and Assistant Directors regarding the work of the team, including preparing complex written briefings and reports, drafting Ministerial briefs and providing input to parliamentary requests.
- Support other section members where required - providing leadership and guidance to junior section members and deputising for the Assistant Director if required.
- Excellent judgement, strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly in a shifting work environment
- Skilled organiser with demonstrated ability to manage committees, projects and workloads with competing and changing priorities
- Good relationship management skills, with the ability to build and sustain strong networks and relationships within the agency and with external stakeholders
- Strong policy, research and analytical skills; including the ability to collate and interpret information from a variety of sources
- Ability to quickly gain an understanding of the role and the associated strategic direction of the organisation.
