Our purpose is simple – together, fight for better health and wellbeing for our community through life-changing medical research and improved healthcare.The Allied Health Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the clinical and operational functions of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Developmental Education, Client Engagement and support staff across THRF Group - Client and Patient Services - Parkinson’s SA/ACT/NT and Stroke. This role will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration, supporting team culture and optimising staff development.About the roleReporting to the Program Director Chronic Disease and Wellbeing Impact, key responsibilities include:
  • Develop, lead and supervise a team of multi-disciplinary allied health professionals
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy clinical expertise, consultative services and professional advice within the team/sector/professional networks
  • Ensure practice and industry currency by maintaining a client load, providing evidence based clinical occupational therapy services for complex clients with a range of neurological/movement disorders
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives aimed at providing safe and high-quality person-centred care.
  • Connecting with key stakeholders, consumers, families, support coordinators to maximise client outcomes and opportunities for service development.
We're looking for individuals who possess:
  • Applicable tertiary qualification, current AHPRA Registration with at least 5 years’ professional experience - background as an Occupational Therapist or relevant allied health area
  • Proven effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and change management
  • Knowledge of public and private health system and relevant programs
  • Experience in applying contemporary management processes and clinical practices in a community setting
  • Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity which can be applied to the community setting, particularly in regard to the provision of clinical services.
