The Organisation
You will work in a 280-bed multi-campus facility providing a broad range of hospital and community services to the region. With a catchment population of 160,000, the health service is the designated regional referral centre and regional trauma service. Its facilities include 210 acute beds, three operating theatres, a procedure room, a day procedure centre, a critical care unit, a state-of-the-art simulation centre and an excellent library. The health service has 26,500 admissions, 7,800 surgical procedures, 1,200 deliveries and 38,000+ Emergency Department presentations a year.The health service is in the process of developing the model of care for onsite Respiratory Function Laboratory testing service and this role will be pivotal in the way forward to bring on this vital service for patients in the region.The Job

The Consultant Respiratory Physician will be expected to take part in the rostered clinical care of inpatients and also conduct outpatient clinics and the outpatient respiratory function testing service
You will engage in a vibrant academic environment with medical students and trainees being rewarded with an enriching experience
As a Consultant in Respiratory Physician, you will provide patient-centred care and put the Health Service at the forefront of education and training
You will participate in the Medical Unit inpatient roster which includes providing ward rounds, on-call service, bronchoscopy roster, and other interventional procedures

Requirements

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
