- Effective oversight of all financial transactions including the month-end and year-end close process
- Manage 3 Accountants in reviewing monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations
- Analyse financial data and make practical recommendations to improve the way the business operates
- Identify and assess financial risks to the business and implement strategies to manage these risks
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, taxation and compliance requirements including indirect taxes & employment type taxes (e.g. GST, payroll tax, FBT, stamp duty, fuel tax credits). Apply an understanding of practical applications for the business.
- Compliance with financial reporting requirements per contract
- Insight into all accounting issues and changes and assist leadership to advise in relation to accounting impacts from transactions and projects
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns as required, and by the due dates
- Liaise with the ATO, auditors, external accountants and other external tax advisers as required
- A CA or CPA qualification
- You are a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with staff management experience of at least 3 direct reports. Ideally part or qualified Accountants
- Strong month-end ownership/review of your resume
- Australian tax & accounting standards experience
- Experience in medium to large size business
- Experience in payroll to be able to assist with any issues that arise
- Experience in systems or project transformations on your resume
