Finance Manager - Infrastructure - North ShoreCompany BackgroundOur client has been in operation for well over 60 years and has been through a variety of transformations and changes to adapt to the times. They are still privately operated and have the great balance of feeling like a family business while having the technology and structure of a large corporation.They offer the ability to stagger your hours, and also work from home 2 days a week.It's a very professional, dedicated finance team with some great technical mentors to learn from.The RoleAs one of the managers in the financial accounting team, you would manage a small team and be responsible for:
  • Effective oversight of all financial transactions including the month-end and year-end close process
  • Manage 3 Accountants in reviewing monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyse financial data and make practical recommendations to improve the way the business operates
  • Identify and assess financial risks to the business and implement strategies to manage these risks
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, taxation and compliance requirements including indirect taxes & employment type taxes (e.g. GST, payroll tax, FBT, stamp duty, fuel tax credits). Apply an understanding of practical applications for the business.
  • Compliance with financial reporting requirements per contract
  • Insight into all accounting issues and changes and assist leadership to advise in relation to accounting impacts from transactions and projects
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns as required, and by the due dates
  • Liaise with the ATO, auditors, external accountants and other external tax advisers as required
Your BackgroundThe hiring manager is looking for candidates with the following experience:Essential
  • A CA or CPA qualification
  • You are a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with staff management experience of at least 3 direct reports. Ideally part or qualified Accountants
  • Strong month-end ownership/review of your resume
  • Australian tax & accounting standards experience
  • Experience in medium to large size business
Highly desirable
  • Experience in payroll to be able to assist with any issues that arise
  • Experience in systems or project transformations on your resume
