About the role:An exciting, part time opportunity for an experienced Student Counsellor to make a difference at BHI!The Student Counsellor provides a range of counselling services to students of BHI to facilitate successful learning outcomes and enrich their personal and social wellbeing. Strategies and modes used include e-counselling, group programs, project work and teamwork with other staff.The Student Counsellor is a member of the counselling team in Student Life. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the broader Student Life team, and professionally with employees at all levels across the BHI and relevant external stakeholders.This position is part time .6 FTE (3 days per week) and salary is pro rata PACCT 6 $77,949 plus compulsory superannuation contribution.About You:You will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary student support team who are passionate about delivering an outstanding student experience in a welcoming, collaborative and respectful environment.The Student Life team strive to ‘make a difference’ to our students and provide the highest quality support tailored to our students educational and wellbeing goals.As a motivated, caring, positive psychologist or social worker, you will be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients using a person centred framework and evidence-based approaches.You will be part of a friendly, supportive, dedicated and professional counselling team with regular opportunities to share learnings and participate in peer consultation.In addition to a diverse student caseload, you will have the opportunity to be part of innovative student centric projects.Your Skills and Qualifications:Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work and
Registration with AHPRA to practice as a Psychologist, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Experience

Expertise in the provision of evidence based short-term psychological counselling with a diverse population who present with a broad range of issues of varying complexity including mental health.
Outstanding interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong professional relationships within and external to Box Hill Institute.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a team environment to foster a culture of student satisfaction and continuous service improvement.
