Cleanaway provides sustainable waste management solutions to a range of customers including councils, small businesses, large corporate entities and government agencies.About the role:Reporting to the Regional Manager Organics and as our new Operations Manager, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing our organics processing facility and operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective processing, treatment, and disposal of organic waste materials while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of professionals and contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable waste management practices.Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Develop and implement operational plans and procedures to optimise efficiency, productivity, and safety.
  • Manage facility budgets, expenses, and resource allocation to achieve cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate operational activities and achieve company objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee, mentor and lead operations staff to ensure high-performance standards and the further development of a culture of safety and teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
About you:
  • Prior experience in a similar senior operations management role within the manufacturing, waste management or in an industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HSE and environmental legislation and comprehensive safety management systems.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and develop teams to achieve operational goals and objectives.
  • Highly developed understanding of operational finances.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
