Reporting to the Senior Director Sales, you will be responsible for the overall Pilot program execution and associated program leadership and management to ensure the successful design, development, integration and delivery of the pilot work scope for the program and to contribute to its overall successful delivery. This includes the establishment of the program team, strategic planning, implementation and management of project deliverables (configuration and data management), the definition collection and reporting of project metrics (engineering performance, schedule, costs, dependencies, resources) the management of any additional allocated work scope and resources, and the identification of issues and risks to the Senior Director as soon as possible.Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall leadership of the scope for Pilot program is delivered in accordance with contemporary Program Management Best Practices.
  • Lead and manage the program team within the combined Pilot program Australian and US based teams.
  • Ensure program execution on schedule through technical compliance, schedule and earned value in accordance with program requirements.
  • Ensure program execution to the agreed estimate at complete (EAC).
  • Deliver comprehensive plans and supporting artefacts to ensure program success.
  • Planning, implementation and management of project deliverables by:
  • Defining project deliverable lists,
  • Allocation of resources to deliverables,
  • Reporting and status of deliverables,
  • Configuration management of program deliverables,
  • Overall program data management,
  • Quality and consistency of deliverables through process implementation and reviews,
  • Delivery of deliverable artefacts to the customer.
  • Definition, collection and reporting of project metrics (engineering performance, schedule, costs, dependencies, resources):
  • Definition of key project metrics in consultation with the broader program team,
  • Engaging with the broader program team for the collection of project metrics,
  • Reporting of project metrics (preparation of presentations and reports),
  • Identification of risks and issues through review of program performance.
  • Lead and manage all of the Pilot program scope, ensuring successful execution of the program scope under the program.
  • Maintain and develop high quality relationships with management, the leadership team and staff of Honeywell, our customer and key Australian groups (ASA/ASC), other supplies and sub-contractors to ensure quality and timely delivery of programs outcomes.
  • Drive the delivery of Technology Transfer of relevant pilot program deliverables including the transitioning of the product responsibility for the Honeywell parts assigned to Honeywell.
  • Develop product roadmaps, support the overall project marketing approach for stewardship through integration of market and customer intelligence into planned program deliverables and marketing campaigns.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
  • Proven (15+ years) experience in Project Management
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Substantial experience in managing complex projects and project resources including subcontractors and multiple service providers using PM methodologies in a variety of environments, along with demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of systems/products, where these may be complex in nature
  • Have excellent written English communication skills using engineering terminology;
  • Must currently hold at least NV1 Australian Security Clearance; and
  • Must have Australian citizenship.
  • Experience in military or aerospace system design;
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required.
