Our 99,600 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job DescriptionSGS is seeking an Aviation Advisor to conduct operational and technical safety audits, and complete aviation projects for our clients. This role serves as a direct link to client representatives on aviation matters and ensures adherence to SGS aviation compliance standards. The successful candidate will provide advice based on regulatory requirements and best international practice, supported by in-house peer review.This full-time opportunity offers flexible location options like Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne for the right candidate.Key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
  • Planning and conducting aviation audits and assessing operator safety for SGS Aviation clients.
  • Managing aviation projects for clients.
  • Providing technical and commercial aviation advice.
  • Preparing written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of client aviation activities.
  • Following-up and closing out issues raised in the course of their duties.
  • Maintaining professional contact and effective working relationships with clients.
  • Maintaining professional qualifications through company training and participation in SGS Aviation seminars where possible.
  • Discharging the administrative duties required for the efficient conduct of their position.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
  • Must hold an Air Transport Pilots License or military equivalent
  • Aviation advisors will ideally have 15 years' experience in the aviation industry
  • Successful completion of a quality/safety (ISO approved) lead auditor course.
  • Experience in auditing aircraft operators (fixed or rotary wing), and inspecting aerodromes and offshore helidecks.
  • Advisors will on occasions be travelling offshore so a valid BOSIET training certificate will be required.
  • Pilot licensed for at least 8 years.
  • Accumulated over 2500 flight hours.
  • Must have auditing experience and conducted 10 Aviation related audits within the last 4 years.
  • Holding BARS auditor qualifications/accreditation will be highly regarded.
Other requirements include:
  • Availability for frequent travel
  • A solid understanding of CASA and ICAO regulations.
