Noted for its environmental excellence, pristine waterways, and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, the Bundaberg Region showcases everything that nature’s palette can create.About The OpportunityJoin our committed team at the Cemetery as a Plant Operator/Labourer, where you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the maintenance of a unique and invaluable community asset and contribute to the beauty and tranquillity of our surroundings.As an essential part of this role, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of performing burial preparation tasks, ensuring a respectful and dignified final resting place for loved ones. Operating a diverse range of equipment and machinery, from mowers and slashers to forklifts and hydraulic mobile platforms, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining our pristine environment. Engage in various horticultural activities, including gardening, pruning, landscaping, and more, as you play a pivotal role in maintaining the pristine environment of our cemetery. Join us in a fulfilling and diverse role that combines meaningful work with the unique charm of our serene setting.About You
  • Possession of current Class 'C' Drivers Licence is essential, Class 'UD', 'MR' or 'HR' is advantageous.
  • Possession of a current Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card.
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation and basic maintenance of relevant items of plant.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and improvement of parks, streetscape, landscape and horticultural environments.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and under general supervision.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with a variety of internal and external parties.
  • Physical capability to perform labouring tasks that may involve strenuous activity, repetitive actions and working in an outdoors environment exposed to natural elements.
  • Demonstrated high level of ability to understand and complete established forms and general reporting requirements relevant to the position.
  • Demonstrated high level of ability to plan and schedule tasks.
  • A sound knowledge (or ability to acquire) Part 3 of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • A Certificate II or higher in a Horticultural related field, a Chainsaw Ticket and Herbicide Operator Ticket (AC/DC) will be highly regarded.
