This is an exciting opportunity to be part of two iconic brands and play a crucial role in managing our extensive trademark portfolio.As our brands continue to grow both locally and globally, your contribution will be invaluable in ensuring the protection of our intellectual property rights. This is a permanent part time position working 4 days a week.In this role you will:
  • Work closely with Marketing, Merchandise, and Design teams to identify trademark risks associated with products. Your proactive approach will help mitigate infringement risks and safeguard our brand integrity.
  • Collaborate with our Legal and Compliance team to develop and deliver training material, ensuring relevant teams are up to date with the latest IP regulations and compliance practices.
  • Dive into legislative updates and assist in drafting legal updates and advice. Your keen eye for detail and legal expertise will help us stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure our business practices remain compliant.
  • Manage our trademark portfolio, including monthly trademark watches, renewals, and new registrations.
  • Be the primary point of contact for our trademark attorneys, providing instructions for lodging oppositions to third-party trademarks and coordinating international trademark management efforts with Anko Global.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a paralegal, preferably within a corporate retail office or law firm.
  • A Diploma in Paralegal Services or equivalent qualification coupled with a passion for intellectual property law.
  • Previous experience in managing trademark portfolios is highly preferred. Your understanding of trademark administration, renewal processes, and application procedures will be critical to success.
  • The ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks efficiently, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. Your adaptability and initiative will enable you to thrive in this dynamic role.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
