Based in the head office in Melbourne, the National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing annual sales budgets and targets for each key agricultural market in conjunction with territory managers, and for the ongoing forecasting for relevant product demand. You will lead an established territory management team, who are based in key geographic locations nationally, and provide ongoing support to these team members where suitable.The National Sales Manager will also be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining appropriate commercial trading terms with key customers, ensuring a close relationship with key buying partners and collaborate closely to identify areas for improvement and market development.You will work closely with the Marketing, Finance, Distribution and Production teams to collaborate across the business group and continue to support and drive the ANZ business activity.The Person
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Experience leading a highly motivated and geographically diverse sales team.
- have a proven sales leadership record of growing revenues and gross profit in agricultural/agchem markets.
- be an effective people leader to mentor and coach salespeople to maximise client relationships and therefore sales results.
- ideally, have knowledge of the agchem market in Australia but you may also come from seed, fertiliser, or broader agriculture background selling into the retail network.
- be able to keep abreast of market trends, key client strategy, and competitor activity.
- be willing to travel as needed in Australia and overseas (conferences, suppliers, and client visits)
- Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
