About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Reliability and Integrity team at our Kwinana Pigment Plant. This role will play a key role in supporting the operational and compliance needs for electrical systems for our plant.Core Responsibilities:
  • Support production continuity, operational efficiency, and electrical safety.
  • Lead the design, development, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems and components for our cutting-edge projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Managing all electrical documentation including, but not limited to:
  • Policies, procedures, and standards
  • Designs and drawings
  • Electrical safety dossier including electrical equipment located in hazardous areas.
  • Support periodic shutdown including and not limited to switching activities.
  • Maintaining electrical documentation, as required by legislation and engineering best practice.
  • Implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and verify the effectiveness of critical controls.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, formulate and complete corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate root causes of electrical failures or malfunctions.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to verify the functionality, reliability, and safety of electrical systems (both LV and HV).
  • Establish effective working relationships with stakeholders to support electrical compliance, improve plant integrity, improve day to day electrical maintenance (insulation, earthing, protection replays)
  • Proactively identifying risks to current and future operations, providing solutions to investigate and mitigate such risks.
  • Collaborate with the asset improvement team, projects, planning, and electrical maintenance to achieve long term improvement and provide day to day operational support.
  • Support Business case development to initiate asset replacement program led by Asset Improvement Team.
About you:To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
  • A relevant tertiary-level qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation
  • 7-10 years experience in an electrical, maintenance or reliability engineering role within a chemical manufacturing plant or similar major hazard facility
  • Knowledge of electrical ELV, LV and HV distribution systems and drive systems
  • High Voltage switching, propulsion and/or onboard distribution system experience.
  • Experience in facilitating Defect Elimination (DE), Continuous Improvement (CI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
  • Knowledge of computer management systems (SAP, MS Office etc)
  • Working closely with maintenance team
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
