- Lead the design, development, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems and components for our cutting-edge projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Managing all electrical documentation including, but not limited to:
- Policies, procedures, and standards
- Designs and drawings
- Electrical safety dossier including electrical equipment located in hazardous areas.
- Support periodic shutdown including and not limited to switching activities.
- Maintaining electrical documentation, as required by legislation and engineering best practice.
- Implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and verify the effectiveness of critical controls.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, formulate and complete corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate root causes of electrical failures or malfunctions.
- Conduct testing and analysis to verify the functionality, reliability, and safety of electrical systems (both LV and HV).
- Establish effective working relationships with stakeholders to support electrical compliance, improve plant integrity, improve day to day electrical maintenance (insulation, earthing, protection replays)
- Proactively identifying risks to current and future operations, providing solutions to investigate and mitigate such risks.
- Collaborate with the asset improvement team, projects, planning, and electrical maintenance to achieve long term improvement and provide day to day operational support.
- Support Business case development to initiate asset replacement program led by Asset Improvement Team.
- A relevant tertiary-level qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation
- 7-10 years experience in an electrical, maintenance or reliability engineering role within a chemical manufacturing plant or similar major hazard facility
- Knowledge of electrical ELV, LV and HV distribution systems and drive systems
- High Voltage switching, propulsion and/or onboard distribution system experience.
- Experience in facilitating Defect Elimination (DE), Continuous Improvement (CI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
- Knowledge of computer management systems (SAP, MS Office etc)
- Working closely with maintenance team
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
