The role:We are recruiting a National Technical Services & Capital Investment Manager in a newly created role at Knight Frank Australia.Working as part of the National Leadership Team, this role is accountable for overseeing the strategic short term operational and longer-term asset performance criteria of a significant national retail portfolio of approximately 100 shopping centres for our client, Region Group.Ideally, you will have a strong track record of previous experience in delivering major portfolio operational, services procurement and more strategic initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders.Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the National Operations Manager and broader nationwide Operations team of approximately 40 motivated individuals.
  • Deliver sustainability and ESG initiatives and work with the internal team and client to meet targeted short, medium and longer-term goals.
  • Ensure the day-to-day management of all matters relating to operations, engineering, risk and compliance alongside the National Operations Manager.
  • Oversee the financial management of the Capital Maintenance Expenditure Program
  • Develop, maintain and update the Capital Works Program policies and guidelines and assist with the delivery of short, medium and longer-term value-enhancing capital works recommendations across the portfolio.
  • Support the broader team and client in recommending future waste and soft-services procurement strategies across the national portfolio.
  • As part of the National Leadership Team, work alongside and continue motivating the broader team to retain the positive team culture of teamwork and high standards.

  • Significant experience in portfolio operations and procurement management strategies and implementation.
  • Retail and Property accounting experience
  • Property redevelopment exposure, including in operating shopping centre assets.
  • Broad understanding and contacts in the Australian commercial property industry
  • A thorough understanding of the principle demands of commercial property and asset management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong leadership management skills with an ability to create and retain high quality teams.
