- Leading the Events Kitchen team in creating and executing menus for events, functions, weddings, and corporate gatherings varying in size
- Collaborating with event planners and clients to design customized menus that meet their preferences and dietary requirements while balancing guest satisfaction, cost effectiveness and resourcing constraints.
- Managing the kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Understanding various components of the P&L report and suggesting insights into the financial health of the business, identify areas of strength and weakness, and make informed decisions to improve performance and profitability.
- Leadership skills – Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing a large team. The ability to inspire and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, is crucial.
- Culinary experience - Demonstrated experience in a large volume venue with variety of cuisines.
- Adaptability - The ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, responding effectively to challenges and changes. Flexibility in managing unexpected situations is crucial in the high-pressure setting.
- Communication skills – Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both with the team and guests.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Head Chef position (Essential)
- Proven management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team (Essential)
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Desirable)
- Thorough knowledge and experience of volume production
- Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word, Excel or equivalent
