CPB Contractors is the CIMIC Group's construction company and a leading international construction contractor, with operations across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.Combining the expertise and track record formerly delivered by Leighton Contractors and Thiess, we deliver projects spanning all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads, rail, tunnelling, defence and building.Our Mission is to generate sustainable returns for our shareholders by delivering projects for our clients, while providing safe, rewarding and fulfilling careers for our people.We need people who are talented, motivated and disciplined, and who have a strong work ethic that drives them to succeed.What can our construction projects build for you?About the OpportunityWe are on the search for an experienced Human Resources/Industrial Relations Manager to join one of our major infrastructure projects in Victoria.The role will be responsible for leading and providing strategic and day to day advice across the HR/IR function, as well as partnering with all relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient, effective and practical implementation of the broader scope of the function.The successful candidate will work across office and site locations affiliated with the project and your ability to build and retain strong relationships is critical to the success of this role.About the Position:As the HR/IR Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of HR/IR management.Some of the key responsibilities include;
  • Define and develop industrial relations plans/strategies to manage stakeholders, mitigate risk and drive project outcomes and priorities.
  • Provide strategic and hands on support to senior management on key HR/IR initiatives and programs of work across the function.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation Awards and Enterprise Agreements relevant to the industry/roles
  • The ability to consider and advise on HR/ IR changes, trends and opportunities which impact on business outcomes
About you:The successful applicant will have the following experience and capabilities:
  • 5+ years in a HR/ IR position in the construction industry, preferably in Victoria providing expert advice to key stakeholders on issue/dispute resolution and industrial relations/employment legislation, policy, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Solid knowledge of legislative and economic environment as appropriate to the role
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant industry experience preferred
  • A strong leader with exceptional stakeholder engagement awareness
