With many employees enjoying a 20+ year tenure, we deliver on the promise of learning and development and career progression.Fostering a true culture of support, each Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology employee plays a role in patient care and is driven to make sure a top-quality service is provided.About the OpportunityPart-time Pathology Specimen Collector position is available in Rockhampton, QLD.Based out of Rockhampton, applicants must have well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care and customer service. The successful candidates will have neat and professional presentation, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility to cover shifts at short notice. An ability to adhere to strict protocols and guidelines will also be required.The primary task of this role is to take blood samples from patients.Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be:
  • Treating our patients with care and compassion;
  • Receiving urine and faeces samples;
  • Recording patient information; and
  • Completing online training via our eLearning training system.
The ideal candidates will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills, along with dedication to excellent customer service. You must also be able to work independently as well as in a team and demonstrate the ability to perform tasks in a timely manner. A Certificate III or IV in Pathology Specimen Collection is a preferred pre-requisite of employment and a First Aid Certificate is a mandatory pre-requisite of employment.Candidates with pathology specimen collection experience will be held in high regard, although this is not essential. Successful candidates will embark on a comprehensive training course during their first twelve months of employment. Upon completion of training, candidates receive an SNP training certificate.Shifts are between 06:30 - 17:00 weekdays and participation in a rotating Saturday roster.Experience in venepuncture is preferable but is not a prerequisite of the position.
