The diversity of skills, life experiences and perspectives within our team enhances our way of working and our ability to achieve success together.About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for a Supervisor Process and Civils to lead, coach and develop the members of the Quality team.This role provides technical support and leadership at our Port Hedland operations to, an expanding team that executes water movement and civil maintenance plans to meet quality and production targets.You will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, Rio Tinto is proud to play an important role in the Port Hedland community and this role will provide representation of Rio Tinto Iron Ore in customer and community relations and activities. You will be supported in your efforts in continually seeking to improve our processes, cost efficiency and productive capability across the operation.This role is a great opportunity to enhance systems and processes to in turn deliver or exceed overall planned output. Working 7 days on, 7 days off and reporting to the Superintendent Quality, you will:
  • Provide coordination and supervision of a small team to safely and efficiently control the processing of salt from seawater, and maintain civil assets
  • Complete daily review of performance against KPI's including identifying root causes of deviations and corrective actions
  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities to process and systems
  • Ensure that operations staff have sufficient skill and knowledge to effectively perform their roles
  • Communicate with the stakeholders regarding planning parameters, service and maintenance requirements, process performance and recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in or lead teams in trials and projects to improve processes and performance
We're looking for someone with strong leadership and well-developed communication skills who is passionate about providing authentic and positive people leadership and a natural role model at cultivating a curious mind. You will have a strong understanding of safe operations and safe behavior fundamentals, work well under pressure while maintaining the ability to meet multiple deadlines along with demonstrated understanding of quality system processes.In addition, to succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in leading a team
  • Demonstrated civil maintenance experience
  • Unrestricted “C” Class driver's license
  • Proficient use of MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent data interpretation and analysis skills
