- Significant practical experience in planning and implementing projects and activities related to natural and cultural resource management programs on Aboriginal lands.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and confidence in working with Aboriginal communities.
- Experience working with a team as a team leader with minimal supervision and at times, in remote areas.
- Demonstrated capacity to remain focused, positive, adaptive and organised in a challenging and dynamic work environment.
- High-level communication skills, ability to work with Elders, and to both lead and support as a member of a team in an indigenous-led organisation.
- Sound knowledge of risk management procedures and practical experience implementing Health, Safety and Environment legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including capacity to manage logistics for remote fieldwork.
- Experience in financial management of a program budget and ensuring compliance with administrative processes. .
- An ability to build networks and develop sustainable partnerships, working with the needs of a diverse range of relevant stakeholders.
- Current valid driver's license; maintaining a licence is a condition of ongoing employment in this role.
- Working with Children's Check (WCC) and Police Clearance or the ability to obtain them.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of social and cultural challenges faced by Aboriginal people and a willingness to commit to community empowerment, training, and development.
- Experience with on country use of technology for monitoring and reporting.
- Willingness to move/live in Port Hedland, Western Australia.
