About the ProjectThe $2.3 billion-dollar New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project will involve the design, build and maintenance of 554 train carriages for Transport for NSW. The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) will carry customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the South Coast, the Blue Mountains and Lithgow.UGL is responsible for the maintenance and whole‐of‐life asset management of the 554 new carriages for 15 years once they are added to the NSW TrainLink Fleet.UGL's maintenance and asset management is based at a new purpose‐built facility in Kangy Angy on NSW’s Central Coast. The facility features multiple roads with a wash plant, wheel lathe and an undercover maintenance area.About the RoleOur maintenance team is growing, and we are looking for Mobile Maintainers to support with the increased maintenance activity on our fleet.This role will support the live running, prepare for revenue at Eveleigh, supporting trains in storage in Wollongong, Port Kembla and Kiama as per contract.Positions will be on dayshift initially whilst training then will move onto a rotating roster with an average of 38 hours per week paid under the UGL Kangy Angy NIF Enterprise Agreement on a base hourly rate plus shift penalties.These roles are based at our Eveleigh branch in Sydney.About YouWe are currently looking for Mechanical and Electrical trades with positions open for rolling stock experienced and non-rolling stock experience (training provided) applicants possessing the following.
  • Australian recognised trade qualification
  • Excellent fault finding experience
  • Forklift or overhead crane license is desirable but not a necessity.
  • No afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable & punctual.
