- Coordinate and control all ongoing preventative and follow-up maintenance, including capital works planning when required.
- Plan, schedule and co-ordinate all shut downs and plan for machine availability for the Engineering Team via the production planning/management teams, ensure the weekly meetings are continued and maintained with a good outcome.
- Ensure all jobs/notifications that are requested are then scheduled, investigated, planned, executed and completed on time and within budget.
- Have an active role with maintaining the Engineering Budget allocation, also keeping the budget tracker up to date.
- Preparation and ordering necessary spare parts and materials for planned tasks
- Monitor spare parts holdings and availability of critical spares, assist in setting up machine BOMs for all assets with parts.
- Schedule and track maintenance policy work orders
- Initiate plant wide mechanical and electrical installation compliance and testing
- Ensure all schematics are retained, updated and maintained as required
- Provide information for reporting to the Engineering management team.
- Maintain all Preventative Maintenance plans for the Engineering, Statutory and Compliance requirements.
- Produce actions to fix root cause and prevent failures from reoccurring. Review downtime on machines and update the PM's to suit.
- Ensure all employee within the Engineering departments are fully trained in SAP as per our SOP's. & Procedures.
- Lead, train and control the Take 5 allocation for the Engineering Team, keep a tracking and training register up to date.
- Maintain the paper-based compliance register an ensure it's up to date and also save documents to the company drives as required.
- Maintain and train Engineering and Contractors for all permits, e.g. permit to work, hot works, etc.
- Contractor Management.
- High attention to detail
- Relevant trade/diploma qualifications with a mechanical or electrical focus.
- Proven preventative planning experience.
- Sound technical understanding of the Plants equipment and maintenance programs.
- Provide maintenance strategies for optimum performance.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Drive and focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong computer literacy
- Knowledge of work planning and scheduling procedures.
- Sound knowledge and experience with electronic materials management systems (SAP desirable).
