- Support Business Planning efforts by working with the senior team to identify strategic priorities, allocate resources, and identify necessary system and investment process enhancements.
- Support the L&I Portfolio and Capability Strategy, ensuring alignment with Investments Department objectives and overall Fund goals, while capturing L&I's needs within the broader investment strategy.
- Support and conduct brainstorming and planning sessions, including offsites, to encourage innovative thinking and validate initiatives
- Collaborate with the L&I team to implement the L&I Portfolio and Capability strategy and individual team strategies. This includes leading projects and initiatives, developing business cases, enhancing capabilities, and overseeing governance.
- Work with the team to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and support and drive a culture of continuous improvement within L&I. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement these improvements effectively.
- Ensure new and existing capabilities comply with governance and internal approval processes, including report preparation and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Validate the benefits and costs of strategies and capabilities to ensure alignment with team and department strategy.
- Research global best practices and provide insights on key capability and operational issues within the investment landscape.
- Understand Fund and Member requirements, as well as those of other stakeholders (e.g., Board, Board Sub-committees, regulators), including strategic and departmental objectives and agreed service levels. Ensure that L&I meets these needs where relevant.
- Strong tertiary qualification, preferably in finance, economics, law or related fields.
- 6+ years in management consulting, funds/asset management or finance sectors.
- High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, setting and managing multiple conflicting priorities within specified time frames.
- Strategic thinking with superior organisational skills.
- Demonstrable proficiency in reporting writing, communication, planning and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working in small, collaborative team environment, where team members are expected to have the capacity to work independently on certain projects and be prepared to work together and provide feedback and input team initiatives.
- A solid understanding of investment processes will be highly favourable
