Our employees are our biggest asset, and we are fully committed to working with you and your colleagues to achieve an inclusive and productive workforce.About the role:Due to internal movement, our Mackay depot is seeking a Freight Operator for a permanent position to join their team. Ideally with recent experience, you are able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, a high level of safety awareness and customer service.

Shunting and yard duties (including cleaning)
Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
Undertake the theoretical and practical components of the training program.
Ensure that the loading and unloading of customer's products are carried out efficiently and safely.
Conduct brake testing of trains.
Effectively communicate with other depot personnel face to face and via two way radio.

About you:

C Class Manual Drivers Licence (mandatory).
Strong commitment to safety.
Mechanical aptitude.
Shunt Qualified or previous rail yard experience. (mandatory)
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
A willingness to work a 24/7 roster and shift lengths of up to 12 hours.
