The OrganisationJoin a health service l that services 10 regional and rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities. The health service is embarking on an exciting period of growth with a $250m redevelopment of the 236-bed base hospital to provide an additional 112 inpatient beds and an expansion of outpatient and support services. Significant upgrades are also underway at rural hospitals.The Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs Service comprises an acute mental health inpatient facility with 24 beds and a step-up step-down unit with 6 beds. Community mental health services include an acute care service, consultation-liaison psychiatry, continuing care team, mobile intensive rehabilitation team, early psychosis, child and youth mental health, older persons mental health and alcohol & other drugs service.
The Job

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide an advanced standard of clinical care through the provision of assessment and treatment services
You will have an opportunity to support ongoing education within the mental health service through the supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and medical students
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team in providing professional psychiatric interventions, direct clinical care, and treatment to clients and their families
You will participate in the shared after-hours on-call roster

Requirements

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent
