In this opportunity as a Legal Editor in Practical Law Middle East, you will use your knowledge of UAE law to research, prepare and maintain a wide range of content. You will also work with our Commissioning team to commission legal know-how content on a range of topics and from a range of jurisdictions for publication on the Practical Law website, promoting the knowledge and expertise of the contributing lawyers.Working in a supportive team of highly experienced colleagues, you will deal with a breadth of interesting legal and editorial work including:
- Researching and analysing the latest Middle East legal, regulatory and policy developments
- Creating and maintaining Middle East content in English and Arabic
- Liaising with others in the team to identify legal know-how content to be commissioned
- Communicating with external law firms and lawyers and their representatives, to ensure the commissioning of legal know-how content by the agreed time frame
- Managing the terms and conditions for commissioned content
- Liaising with governmental bodies, ministries and official authorities to gather updated information necessary for the production of legal know-how
- Supporting the Editorial, Commissioning, Sales and Product teams when needed
- At least 2 years’ post qualification experience as a lawyer in the UAE.
- A good understanding of UAE law and legal processes
- Business level written and spoken English and Arabic language (mandatory)
- Experience at working to deadlines and able to prioritise and manage own workload
- Experience in assimilating and applying new complex information
- Excellent attention to detail
- Analytical and research skills and the ability to identify key issues
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Good team player with ability to work with different stakeholders within the team
- Capability to work across multiple projects with the team
