- Responsible for preparation of monthly MIS reports for the Company entity.
- Analyzing relevant books of accounts and schedules thereof and making recommendations in order to ensure that accounts are prepared and maintained in conformity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Preparation of the annual budget in line with the Company policies and guidelines.
- Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures.
- Forecast cash flow positions and related borrowing needs. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational/other requirements, and raise red flags as needed.
- Manages Vendors for the payments in stressed cash position.
- Follow up with sales team for external Account Receivables collection.
- Internal and external payments processing as per procurement DOA.
- Follow up with Finance teams of related party for Intercompany receivables.
- Co-ordinates and assists both internal and external auditors in the checking and finalisation of the accounts, prior to submission, to ensure that all figures submitted are correct.
- Prepare and file VAT returns and ensure compliance with other regulations.
- Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant. CA, ACCA, CPA, or CA (Inter) Accounting Degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant in a Travel company with at least 4 to 5 years of UAE experience.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Experience in preparing financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, and Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
