- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to prepare dishes accurately and efficiently.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Cook food items according to specified cooking times and methods.
- Monitor food temperatures and adjust cooking times as necessary to ensure food safety.
- Collaborate with the chef or kitchen manager to develop new menu items.
- Provide input on menu planning and recipe creation based on your expertise and knowledge of ingredients.
- Inspect food items for freshness and quality before cooking.
- Taste and evaluate dishes for flavor, seasoning, and presentation.
- Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the established quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
- Follow proper procedures for equipment maintenance and report any issues to management.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Proven experience as a Cook in a similar role or culinary training from a reputable institution.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality food.
