- Develop and implement production plans to meet project timelines and client requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
- Resource Management:
- Manage a team of production staff, including supervisors, technicians, and laborers.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that each team member understands their role in the production process.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance:
- Establish and maintain quality control standards for all production activities.
- Conduct inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement corrective actions as needed to address quality issues and prevent reoccurrence.
- Health and Safety:
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to educate staff on best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement preventive measures to minimize workplace hazards.
- Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and equipment required for production.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
- Foster a culture of innovation and encourage employee involvement in problem-solving and idea generation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production management within the marine industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of marine construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001), health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
