Our team members find their roles highly fulfilling and rewarding and are constantly looking at ways to support our clients to pursue the dignity of independence – the Brightwater Mission.Brightwater Care Group has opportunities for a Therapy Assistant to join our Transition Care Program at Birralee in Innaloo on a permanent full time or part time basis. The Brightwater Transition Care Programme aims to optimise clients’ health, wellbeing, and independence for a smooth transition from hospital back to their own home or aged care. Therapy assistants are essential in the delivery of goal directed therapy programs to help clients meet their goals. Therapy assistants at Birralee TCP will be expected to support clients with a range of different therapy programs on a 1:1 basis or in a group and will be required to provide both occupational therapy and physiotherapy programs to clients. Therapy assistants will receive guidance and mentoring from OT’s and PT’s who are present on site every day during the week.Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work to fill our vacancies which are currently in Week 1 and 2: Fridays and Saturday Morning shifts (09:00 AM - 05:00 PM).Brightwater can offer you:

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
  • A Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or progress towards)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Extensive experience in clients living with Dementia
  • A positive, proactive and a client-focused approach
  • A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old
  • Evidence of an up-to-date flu vaccination
Responsibilities include:
  • Provision of goal directed therapy programs in accordance with their Care Plan in group or individual settings
  • Provision of recreational based activities to meet the social and emotional needs of clients
  • Contributing to the development of innovative therapy programs to improve the wellbeing of our clients
  • Supporting volunteers to enhance the site therapy program
  • Contributing to site reporting, accreditation standards and legislative compliance by completing all documentation and reporting incidents
